Well-Captured Moments: The Roxas City Public Market

The Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center has the distinction of being of the Western Visayas’ biggest and cleanest public market. If you want some of the freshest produce in town, all you need to do is catch a tricycle and tell the driver to take you to Lipunan, as we locals fondly call it. It used to be called Bagong Lipunan Trade Center, until it was later renamed in the 90s, if I am not mistaken.

Whether you’re looking for the freshest seafood (all at fairly affordable prices) or you are looking for fruits, vegetables, or even ukay-ukay, then, the TATC is your all-in-one, one-stop hub.

Professional photographer Eric Bryn Tonito lovingly captured TATC in the images below. From the yummy seafood to the ever-active vendors, Tonito’s zest for catching lives actions to still images will really make you feel like you’re right there and then.

The Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center boasts of offering shoppers
everything that they are looking for.

Fresh prawns sell for around P400 a kilo, but they're way cheaper
than in Iloilo or Manila. If you see them sold at TATC,
don't hesitate to buy them!

The fish market at Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center is teeming with
light-hearted vendors who are willing to give discounts on your
purchases. Take a shopping spree here and you'll go home with
seafood delights, from fresh fish and
shrimps to crabs and shells.

Kasag, always for sale at Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center, is best eaten
when cooked in Sprite or Royal.

I am fond of drinking fresh calamansi juice and here at Tedoro Arcenas
Trade Center, it is sold abundantly.
