Take a break from the
hustle and bustle of city life and take a short trek up Culasi Point, in Roxas
City, where a medium-size lighthouse. If you’re used to physical activities, the
hike isn’t tasking, but if you’re doing less physical activity than you should,
then, the 15-minute walk from the Coast Guard Headquarters in Brgy. Culasi is a
good cardio exercise. From the Coast Guard, you would pass through the black,
rocky shoreline and hilly yet beautiful landscape that would lead you to the destination.
A nice view of the city and the Sibuyan Sea awaits you. The cool breeze is also
refreshing. Ideal time to come here is either early in the morning (trekking is
allowed from 6 am to 6 pm) or late in the afternoon (5-5:30 pm). It feels
romantic to watch the sunset here. Watching the sky turn from orange to
lavender to dark blue is simply delightful to the senses, but be sure to head
down before 6 pm. Entrance is free, so this is an ideal weekend or holiday
destination for those looking for some sort of physical activities close to
nature.
How to reach Culasi
Point?
From Roxas City
proper, get a tricycle ride to Culasi Port. At the port’s entrance, ask the
personnel for the Coast Guard Office. You will pass an alley that ends at the
Coast Guard headquarters. Just inform the officers on duty that you want to visit
the lighthouse. You will have to register first and when it’s done you’re good
to go.
